Week 2 Fantasy Football Sleepers: Streamers & Stashes

Listen to the episode ↗

Theo Gremminger runs through Week 2 waiver-wire streamers and stashes as a wave of injuries (Nico Collins, Zay Flowers, Brock Bowers, Chris Olave, Jordan Mason, Ladd McConkie) creates opportunity across positions. He mixes immediate streaming plays with cheap, no-cost stashes for players whose roles could grow later in the season.

# Week 2 Fantasy Football Sleepers: Streamers & Stashes

This episode of the RotoWire podcast is a rapid-fire triage session built around Week 2's unusually heavy injury news — Nico Collins, Zay Flowers, Brock Bowers, Jordan Mason and others banged up or out. Theo Gremminger's central argument is that managers should move now, before the Sunday box scores create demand, grabbing cheap streamers for immediate need and near-free stashes for players whose roles are about to expand.

The arguments

Bryce Young is a legitimate cheap streaming quarterback against Atlanta. Gremminger leans on Young's personal history against the Falcons (a career-high 448 yards and three touchdowns last year, plus three passing and two rushing scores in 2024), a talented receiving corps in Jalen Coker and Tetairoa McMillan, a healthy two-back rotation, and a competitive Vegas line (Carolina favored by 2.5 on the road) to argue Young is worth a cheap add, with the understanding you can drop him if he flops.

Carson Wentz deserves top-20 QB treatment against Chicago's leaky secondary. He points to Wentz's three-touchdown relief outing and the way Bryce Young exploited the same Bears defense, projecting a shootout with Justin Jefferson getting heavy volume; this is framed strictly as a superflex/streaming play, not a single-QB priority.

Devon Vele is a legitimate flex play, not just a name-recognition add. Seven catches for 69 yards, a touchdown and nine targets against Detroit earned this praise, and Gremminger argues that if Chris Olave (questionable) sits, Vele's target share could push past 25%; even if Olave plays, Vele still profiles as a firm WR3/flex.

Dalton Schultz becomes a viable streaming TE1 with Nico Collins out. He had the second-most routes and eight targets last week behind only Collins, and Gremminger expects him to lead the Houston target chart this week; he contrasts this with chasing receiver snaps behind Schultz (preferring Jaylin Noel's upside over Xavier Hutchinson's capped role).

Rashad Bateman is a short-term spot start, not a real difference-maker. With Zay Flowers out and Jacoby Bissett-adjacent context building his role already, Bateman becomes Lamar Jackson's most experienced healthy receiver, but Gremminger is careful to note Baltimore's run-heavy game script against the Saints could cap his ceiling outside of a long touchdown.

Several low-cost WR streamers hinge on injury-driven opportunity. DeMario Douglas and Mac Hollins are framed as free-agent bets in New England (Douglas historically produces when he clears 60% of snaps), while Demarcus Robinson is pushed hard as a 49ers streamer against Miami's weak cornerbacks, citing his 63% snap share and red-zone role from Week 1.

Handcuffs and injury-driven backups are worth stashing even if unrosterable now. Emmitt Johnson (Chiefs), Rock Sanders (Browns, after Dylan Sampson's IR move), Antonio Williams (Commanders), Kenyon Sadiq (Jets) and DeWayne Claiborne/DJ Dallas (Vikings, behind an aging Aaron Jones) are all flagged as free, high-upside stashes tied to specific injuries or depth-chart vulnerabilities ahead of them.

What it means for your roster

  • Add Bryce Young and/or Carson Wentz cheaply for Week 2 streaming only — Young in single-QB or superflex, Wentz strictly superflex — and be ready to drop either if production doesn't hold.
  • Prioritize Devon Vele and Dalton Schultz as free, must-roster streamers this week if Chris Olave and Nico Collins miss time; both have real WR2/TE1 usage arguments behind the injury.
  • Grab Trey Harris now, before waivers run, as the direct beneficiary if Ladd McConkie (questionable) sits for the Chargers.
  • Stash Emmitt Johnson and Rock Sanders for free as high-value handcuffs — Johnson is called one of the most valuable backups in football behind Kenneth Walker's unsustainable workload.
  • Target Antonio Williams and Kenyon Sadiq via trade, not waivers, since Gremminger expects them to already be rostered elsewhere; buy low before their roles visibly grow.
  • Pick up the Giants defense for $0–$1 now ahead of their Week 3 matchup with Tennessee, beating the wave of streamers who'll bid up the price after Monday Night Football.

Players in this episode

Kenneth Walker · RB, KC

→ Went off in Week 1, but hosts expect his volume to be moderated going forward, opening a bigger role for the backup (Emmitt Johnson).

Ladd McConkey · WR, LAC

→ Left last week's game and is questionable again, which is why Trey Harris becomes a stream/stash target.

Dalton Schultz · TE, HOU

↑ Had second-most routes and 8 targets last week; with Nico Collins out, he should lead the team in targets and is a solid TE1 play if available.

Kenyon Sadiq · TE, NYJ

↑ Scored a rushing TD last week and is being praised by the Jets as a move-TE/YAC weapon; worth stashing as a potential breakout later in the season.

T.J. Hockenson · TE, MIN

↑ Was second on the team in catches/targets last week and scored; roughly half his fantasy points since 2025 have come in games Carson Wentz started, making him a sneaky streamer.

Bryce Young · QB, CAR

↑ Coming off a top-4 week one finish with strong weapons (Coker, McMillan, Hubbard, Brooks) and a strong track record against Atlanta, he's a cheap Superflex streaming add for Week 2.

Isiah Pacheco · RB, DET

→ Referred to as Emmitt Johnson-adjacent handcuff discussion; noted as a very good pass catcher whose role should grow as Kenneth Walker's workload gets managed.

Antonio Williams · WR, WAS

↑ Third-round rookie who had 64 receiving yards and a TD on four targets; expected to earn more playing time, especially with Chigoziem Okonkwo out, boosting pass-catching usage.

Demond Claiborne · RB, MIN

→ Inactive last week but mentioned as an alternative handcuff to Aaron Jones alongside DJ Dallas.

Malik Washington · WR, MIA

↑ Has nearly a 30% target share and strong air yard share, giving him solid underlying metrics as a stash amid the Dolphins' crowded WR room.

Tre' Harris · WR, LAC

↑ Played 75% of snaps with a 20%+ target share last week; would be the direct beneficiary if questionable Ladd McConkie sits again.

Rashod Bateman · WR, BAL

↑ With Zay Flowers out and Jacoby Lane on IR, Bateman becomes the WR1 with Lamar Jackson and gets a spot-start look versus a Saints defense that gave up yardage last week.

Devaughn Vele · WR, NO

↑ Had 7 catches for 69 yards and a TD on 9 targets last week; could see 25%+ target share if questionable Chris Olave sits, making him a must-add WR2/flex.

Trace McSorley · QB

↑ Rookie kicker hit a 50+ yard and 40+ yard field goal in his debut with coach praise, making him a streaming option at kicker.

DeMario Douglas · WR, NE

↑ Historically performs well when playing 60%+ snaps, which is expected this week; considered the highest-floor option among Patriots WRs including Romeo Dobbs.

Carson Wentz · QB, MIN

↑ Threw 3 TDs filling in last week and faces a leaky Chicago secondary; treat as a top-20 QB and fun Superflex QB2 play this week.

DeeJay Dallas · RB, MIN

→ Getting praise from coaches as a pass-blocker/receiver; a handcuff option behind aging Aaron Jones (32) who may not sustain a heavy workload.

Demarcus Robinson · WR, SF

↑ Played 63% of snaps, drew two end zone targets and scored last week; great matchup against Miami's weak corners makes him a streaming option with multi-week viability.

Khalil Herbert · RB, ATL

↑ Reunited with Ben Johnson and led the Bears with 9 targets/8 catches in his debut; a 32-year-old breakout stash despite skepticism about sustainability.

Raheim Sanders · RB, CLE

↑ Steps in as the new handcuff after Dylan Sampson went to IR; athletic, effective as a receiver, and could become an RB1 if Quinshon Judkins gets hurt.

Mack Hollins · WR, NE

→ Paired with Douglas as a streaming option in a favorable, well-rested Patriots spot against Pittsburgh.
