De'Zhaun Stribling
Stribling is a rookie 49ers wideout whose fantasy relevance right now is entirely theoretical: he was San Francisco's clear WR2 in preseason and early camp, out-snapping veterans before an ankle injury shelved him. Post-surgery, he's a stashed dynasty asset with no near-term redraft value, waiting on Mike Evans, Christian Kirk, and George Kittle's injury-riddled receiver corps to eventually need him again.
The arc flipped hard in one week: Fantasy Football Today and Dynasty Nerds were bullish in early September, calling Stribling a preseason riser and 'layup' dynasty buy given his path to targets, while Fantasy Football Today separately warned not to trust him as a redraft starter yet. Then on 9/11 he went down with a non-contact ankle injury during his best game snap-share-wise, sparking Achilles scares across The Ringer, Fantasy Focus, Fantasy Footballers, Harris, and Yahoo's Matt Harmon before Shanahan confirmed the Achilles was intact. By 9/17-9/19, consensus (Berry's Happy Hour, Matt Harmon, The Audible, FantasyPros) settled on ankle surgery with a realistic 10-week absence, unanimous dynasty-hold advice, but a warning not to overpay given a strong incoming rookie WR class.
The line: Hold him in dynasty as a cheap long-term stash, but he's unrosterable in redraft for at least ten weeks.
